Collage for latest theme at The Kollage Kit. I don't usually like to use photo copies but in this instance I had this one over from a previous project and it seemed ideal for this theme of "Shops and Shopping". Also included some failed copies of Peter Blake's "Toy Shop" from which this was inspired.
Collage from the archive - one of the first I ever made at Manchester School of Art in 1968. Exhibited at the Northern Young Contemparies in the same year. I think Bryan Ferry , who was a student at Newcastle School of Art was in the same exhibition. It seems a bit crude now but an overly nostalgic collage containing a Noddy postcard, a small photo of our holiday in Ireland with chums, toy postage stamps with innapropriate Gollys on!
I grew up in the home counties around London during the 50's and 60's. Went to several art schools including Southend ,Chelsea and Manchester. Trained as a painter and printmaker but now mostly using collage. Collect novelty songs and old mail art amongst other things too numerous to mention.
